More details for new Obi-Wan Kenobi series revealed! The show is to take place 8 years after the events from ‘Revenge of the Sith’.
The new series for the legendary Jedi Master was announced D23 2019. Ewan McGregor confirmed his return to the Star Wars show with his own series along with Kathleen Kennedy at Disney’s event.
The Scottish actor said, “It’s been 4 years of saying, ‘Well, I don’t know’. Now I can say, ‘Yes, we’re going to do it!’ It feels so nice to say.” In addition, Kathleen said, “We have all the scripts written, We’re ready to start shooting next year.”
Moreover, a synopsis of the new series revealed details. It stated that the story will be picked up 8 years after the Revenge of the Sith.
It read, “[It takes] place eight years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, where we last saw Obi-Wan delivering the infant Luke Skywalker to his Tatooine homestead.”
The series from the Star Wars universe seems to be close to the timeframe for the film, Solo: A Star Wars. The story took place near the end of the Age of Republic.
One of the memorable scenes from Solo’s origin story revealed that Darth Maul was very much alive.It also showed that he was thriving as the leader of a ‘Crimson Dawn’, a crime syndicate.This meant that there would still be a chance that Obi-Wan’s former opponent would appear in the new spinoff series
The series has fans eager to watch the jedi master appear on screen again. The shooting for the new series will take place next year in 2020 and it will be released on Disney’s new streaming service under the name of Disney+.
In addition to the Star Wars series, The platform would offer viewers the chance to watch more exciting shows. The streaming service will show, the new Muppets series, a Lizzie McGuire reboot, Marvel‘s superhero movies and also view programs based around nature.
The filming has not started for the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series yet.
