Game of Thrones Season 8 Grabs 10 Emmy Awards
The main awards will be given at the Primetime Emmy Awards. The 71st Awards show will air live on Fox, from California on 22 September.

Game of Thrones took home 10 Emmy Awards on Sunday night for its final season.

After 32 Emmy nominations, the fantasy series surprised everyone by winning big. The took not only the Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series award, but also won the Main Title Design award.

The HBO show also won the following awards: Outstanding Makeup, Outstanding Music Composition for a Series, Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing, Outstanding Stunt Coordination, Outstanding Special Visual Effects, Outstanding Sound Editing, and Outstanding Sound Mixing.

The final season of Game of Thrones left many fans extremely disappointed with the show. However, this year it has the most wins at the Emmy’s.

After Game of Thrones, HBO’s Chernobyl won seven Emmy’s. While Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel took home six awards.

Other winners included RuPaul’s Drag Race, Queer Eye, Nat Geo’s Free Solo, and The Handmaid’s Tale.

Furthermore, Beyoncé was nominated for Homecoming, her Netflix concert film, four times. But she lost in all the categories.

Even the Big Bang Theory did not receive many nominations for their final season. CBS President Kelly Kahl said, “I think The Big Bang Theory is one of the best comedies in TV history, and I would stack it up against any show, whether they were nominated for Emmys or not.”

Adding, “Ultimately do I wish it kind of deserved more respect from the Academy? I certainly do.”

The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards do not have a host this year.
