President Trump Booed at the World Series: "Lock Him Up!"
President Trump was booed at game five of the World Series between the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals, with the crowds yelling, "Lock him up."

Crowd booed and yelled for President Trump to be locked up at the World Series.

The President was attending the fifth game of the World Series. It was between the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. The game was held on Sunday evening in Washington DC.

President Trump attended the game alongside First Lady Melania Trump and Congress members. Sens. Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham and Reps. Mark Meadows, Matt Gaetz, and Liz Cheney all came along with President Trump.

During the game, the Jumbotron eventually turned to President Trump and his companions. The crowd immediately started booing and some people even chanted, “Lock him up!” Some of the crowd members also brought along “Impeach Trump” and “Veterans for Impeachment” signs.

President Trump initially said “Wow” to thw First Lady when the Jumbotron showed him. However, the booing started. Initially, he awkwardly clapped through it. The group’s smiles then fell as the booing continued.

Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough said, “We are Americans, and we do not do that. We do not want the world hearing us chant, ‘Lock him up’ to this president or to any president.”

However, one person replied, “A President who *leads* a “lock her up” chant against his political enemies smacks of authoritarianism. Americans who chant “lock him up” to a President who acts like a tyrant and believes he is above the law is calling for accountability.”

Democrat Senator Chris Coons told CNN, “I frankly think the office of the president deserves respect, even when the actions of our president at times don’t.”

President Trump being booed at the World Series is not the first time the US head of state has been booed at a public event. Former Presidents Obama, George W. Bush and George H. W. Bush have also been booed at past events.
