Rashida Tlaib’s grandmother cursed Donald Trump for his comments against her granddaughter. Muftia Tlaib said while sitting in her village at Beir Ur Al-Fauqa, “Trump tells me I should be happy Rashida is not coming.”

“May God ruin him,” she also cursed. “I was happy that she was coming, I was excited that she was coming, for her grandmother to see her.”

Her uncle Bassam Tlaib also said, “She [Muftia] was going to slaughter a sheep when Rashida arrived and prepare her favorite food, stuffed vine leaves.”

Rashida Tlaib is an American congresswoman and has not seen her grandmother for almost 12 years. On Thursday, Israel refused to let Rashida and Democrat Ilhan Omar travel to the country. Previously, however, they have both been given permission.

The country changed its mind once again the next day and allowed Tlaib to visit her grandmother in the West Bank. However, the congresswoman refused the invite.

US President Donald Trump posted on Twitter about the issue. He said, “Rep. Tlaib wrote a letter to Israeli officials desperately wanting to visit her grandmother. Permission was quickly granted, whereupon Tlaib obnoxiously turned the approval down, a complete setup. The only real winner here is Tlaib’s grandmother. She doesn’t have to see her now!”

Tlaib wrote on Twitter, “Silencing me & treating me like a criminal is not what she [grandmother] wants for me. It would kill a piece of me. I have decided that visiting my grandmother under these oppressive conditions stands against everything I believe in–fighting against racism, oppression & injustice.”

Furthermore, Tlaib was asked to denounce her support for any anti-Israel boycotts. Fellow Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is openly supportive of the pro-Palestinian Boycott. This resulted in both Muslim women being refused entry in Israel.

Mufti Tlaib, however, is still hopeful that her granddaughter will come home. She says, “My heart tells me that she will come.”
