US recently experienced one of the deadliest mass shooting incident in its history! The unfortunate event happened on late Sunday, when a gunman opened fire on at least 22,000 people at a country music festival in Las Vegas.
According to the recent reports at least 50 people lost their lives while over 416 were found injured!
Police claims the shooter was 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, described as a local man, who opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas Village from a room across the street in the Mandalay Bay Hotel shortly after 10pm.
Gun maniac Stephen Paddock sprayed thousands of bullets into the music festival crowd from a Las Vegas hotel balcony. Terrifying footage from the scene show the crowd reacting with confusion panic as the festival turned into a bloodbath around them!
Video from close to the stage shows people hitting the floor as others crawl to safety or run for their lives. Audio from further back in the crowd captured several bursts of sustained automatic gunfire.
Witnesses said hundreds of rounds of ammunition were emptied into the crowd, with Paddock stopping several times to reload as he carried out his massacre.
Among those shot dead at the concert were two off-duty police officers. Witnesses said a large number of law enforcement and military personnel had been attending the show.
Two on-duty police officers who engaged the shooter have been hospitalized – one of whom is in critical condition, while the other less-severely wounded. Both of them have not been identified yet.
All of the ambulances in the area were been deployed to the location and the victims were taken to two hospitals.
The devastating attack surpasses the Orlando shooting at the Pulse nightclub last year, which killed around 49 people.
Officers say Paddock was shot and killed after they breached a room in the hotel, where he had stashed an ‘arsenal’ of weapons used during the massacre.
Investigators are now raiding the Mesquite home he shared with his companion, Marilou Danley(reportedly his wife), who was detained for questioning in the early hours of Monday morning. Two vehicles registered to the suspect have also been found.
Police said Paddock had been using Marilou’s identification, but she was not believed to be involved. Joseph Lombardo, Sheriff of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, said that the investigations are still going on and police have not yet determined a motive.
President Donald Trump paid his respects on Monday morning after the shooting.
Another footage of the shooting shows performer, Jason Aldean, on stage as the gunfire goes out.
Aldean continues performing for ten seconds as the gunfire rings out constantly, only stopping after screams begin to rise from the crowds.
People in the crowds seemed confused over whether they just heard gunshots as the lights on the stage dim and Aldean and his band leave.
Though, Aldean later took it to Instagram condemning the terror attack.
The crowd initially got calmly down on the ground, but as more people fell to the gunfire, mass panic took hold and people began to stampede from the scene.
Brit tourist Andy Williamson and tennis star, Laura Robson and pro golfer Michael Seiden were at the concert, with the Foreign Office saying it was in contact with authorities in Las Vegas, and was “ready to help” any Brits affected.
Professional poker player Dan Bilzerian, who was also at the event, streamed footage of himself running. Noises that could be helicopters or gunfire could be heard in the background.
As he recorded the clip, he said: “Holy f**k this girl just got shot in the f**king head,’ he said, ‘This is so f**king crazy.”
Brit Nathan Judah has described being caught up in the panic following the shooting.
Journalist Nathan, from the West Midlands, was leaving the MGM Grand Las Vegas after a meal when he heard a commotion from outside on the Strip.
He said: “We were around 50 yards away from where it happened. It’s hard to work out what we heard, but all of a sudden there was sheer panic, everyone was running away.
“We ran with them, people around us were looking for covering, trying to get to their hotels. It was pandemonium. We were lucky to get a taxi when we did before more crowds of people came along.”
“There are people being treated in the lobby and we’re looking after someone in our hotel room. “I’m looking outside and see the area is in lock down, police cars are everywhere.”
“People are in shock, trying to call family, trying to find out what is going on.”
Hotel guests staying at the Mandalay Bay said they were woken by SWAT teams bursting into their rooms.
Dozens were seen on aerial footage fleeing the Mandalay Bay, which was locked down, as police surrounded the location.
Another country music fan at the concert said he dragged injured people out of the concert – unless they were clearly dead.
Asked how he felt, he said: “Heartbroken. Just anybody I have met tonight I have told them that I’m an American and that we are brothers just because we are American tonight.
“We wanted to save everybody.”
Unconfirmed reports were made of a suspicious vehicle outside the Luxor, and shots fired at other Vegas locations: Aria, NYNY and Tropicana.
The LVMPD tweeted: “Please avoid heading to the south end of the Strip. Las Vegas Blvd is shut down at Tropicana, southbound past Russell Rd at this time.”
Flights out of the city’s McCarran International Airport have started up again after initially being shut down during the shooting.
Former US president, Barack Obama, England’s Prime Minister Theresa May, Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval and more took it to twitter to offer their condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the Las Vegas shooting.
Luxor hotel, next door to the shooting, is reportedly now on alert after a van parked outside sparked a bomb threat.
The Mandalay Bay Resort, itself grieved over and condemned the Las Vegas shooting!
