From the town of Andhra Pradesh, Erramatti Mangayamma caught the eye of news outlets after she got pregnant at the age 74. Even though the woman had gone through menopause 30 years ago, she and her husband did not stop trying to conceive.

Mangayamma started going through IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) treatments at the Ahalya IVF clinic in the city of Guntur. She got the idea after her 55-year-old neighbor had a baby.

Before her, another Indian woman, Daljinder Kaur gave birth to a son back in 2016. She was 72 years old at the time.

Mangayamma said, “I cannot express my feeling in words. These babies complete me. My six-decade-long wait has finally come to an end. Now, no one can call me infertile anymore.”

Also adding, “I thought about taking help of IVF procedure after a neighbor conceived at the age of 55.”
