Jonathan Groff has joined the star-studded cast of Matrix 4 which will be directed by Lana Wachowsk.
Toby Emmerich, of the Warner Bros. Picture, announced back in August that they were working on Matrix 4. Collider has confirmed the news that Jonathan Groff who voices Kristoff in Disney’s Frozen will be joining the cast of the movie.
The 34-year-old actor is best known for his role as Agent Holden Ford on Netflix’s show Mindhunter. His role in the upcoming Matrix film is still a secret.
Groff made a name for himself after his performance as Melchior Gabor in the Broadway production of Spring Awakening in 2006. He also received a nomination for Best Actor in a Musical at the Tony Awards. Furthermore, he also played the role of King George III in the original Broadway production of Hamilton in 2015.
He also appeared in many episodes of the television series Glee as Jesse St. James.
Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will be reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity respectively. Furthermore, Variety also announced in October that the How I Met Your Mother star, Neil Patrick Harris will be joining the star-studded cast as well.
Also, the Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is also joining Harris in the upcoming movie. Deadline has also reported that Jada Pinkett Smith might also be reappearing in the movie. Smith previously played the role of Niobe in the second and third films of the Matrix.
The first film of the Matrix trilogy was released in 1999. While, The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions were both released in 2003. The films earned more than $1.6 billion at the global box office.
The release date for Matrix 4 has not been announced yet!
