Wonder Woman is back with a trailer full of reunions and new villains. The upcoming DC film will bring Diana Prince back onscreen.
Warner Bros. released the trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 on Sunday at the Comic-Con Experience in São Paolo, Brazil. Fans have been going crazy over the upcoming sequel ever since. The origin story of the DC superhero was released back in 2017.
The official synopsis for the film reads, “Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big-screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.”
The trailer is set to the track ‘Blue Monday’ and shows the return of Chris Pine as Gal Gadot’s love interest in the sequel once again. The first film saw Pine’s character sacrifice himself to save the world. Gal Gadot’s character also gets a new costume a the very end of the trailer.
The film stars Gal Gadot in the titular role of the Amazonian princess Diana “Wonder Woman” along with Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord. Robin Wright will star as Antiope and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta. Patty Jenkins will be producing and directing the film.
In the upcoming action film, the superhero will face a new villain in the form of Barbara Minerva played by Kristen Wiig. She is described as an archeologist who turns into an evil villain known as Cheetah.
