A Quiet Place is back with a chilling new trailer for the sequel of the horror film, starring Emily Blunt.
The Abbott family is on the run again after Lee (John Krasinki) sacrificed himself to save his children in the first film. The sequel will star once again Emily Blunt as Evelyn, with her children Regan (Millicent Simmonds), Marcus (Noah Jupe) and a newborn, trying to fight for survival in the post-apocalyptic world.
New cast members include Djimon Hounsou and Peaky Blinder‘s Cillian Murphy who believes, “The people that are left are not the kind of people worth saving.”
The trailer shows scenes from before the monster invasion as well as Emily Blunt tries to drive her children to safety.
The official synopsis of the upcoming film is as follows:
“Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.”
A Quiet Place was released back in 2018 and was directed by John Krasinski. The film received a lot of positive reviews and Emily Blunt was also awarded Best Supporting Actress at the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
In a recent interview with Total Film magazine, John Krasinski opened up about the sequel. He said, “I love the idea of the first one, that Emily and I as characters were all about surviving versus the thriving.”
He further added, “All my character wanted to do was survive. And her character says, ‘That’s not enough. We have to thrive. We have to let these kids be whole human beings’. And after I’m gone, I’m loving seeing Emily really battle with that – that maybe survival was the way to go. And maybe this idea of thriving was too dangerous.”
