Friends – the famous TV Show – will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and Ralph Lauren has come up with the perfect way to celebrate FRIENDS 25th anniversary. Ralph Lauren has teamed up with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to execute the idea.
The collaboration is being done for creating a curated Wear to Work collection that is based on Jennifer Aniston’s character from the show, Rachel Green.
The Wear to Work collection features pieces from the Polo and Lauren Ralph Lauren collections. It has turtlenecks and wool suits that have been updated in terms of silhouettes and shapes. It also has trousers in black leather along with midi or miniskirts in suede, leather, and plaid. The jackets that are being featured in this collection include velvet, faux leopard fur, and purple shearling.
That is not where the tradition ends, though. It also tips the hat to tradition by including pin-striped suits, crested blazers, and accessories that are equestrian-inspired and come in color-blocking in orange and navy along with pops of leopard. Most of the pieces that are being launched for Friends 25th anniversary will be retailing for prices of $150 and up.
The Rachel Green Wear to Work collection that is being launched for the Friends 25th anniversary will be displayed at Bloomingdale’s on September 21 and 22. This is when shoppers at the 59th Street flagship store will be able to stop and have a complimentary cup of coffee at a replica of Central Perk from the famous TV show, FRIENDS. The fans of the show will remember it as the place where Joey, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, Rachel, and Ross used to hand out.
This replica of Central Perk is located in the Studio 59 space of the retailer that is generally the content creation hub but has undergone a transformation for celebrating FRIENDS 25th anniversary. Shoppers will also be able to visit the third floor, from today and continuing through September 27, where the re-creation of Rachel’s office and a different section of the Central Perk will be available.
These installations will be traveling to different Bloomingdale’s locations including Bergen County, N.J., White Plains, N.Y., Aventura, Fla., and the soon-to-open Norwalk, Conn., store. Frank Berman, Bloomingdale’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, said, ‘Bloomingdale’s goes beyond great fashion by offering in-store activations driven by pop culture and creating a memorable shopping experience for our customers. This Ralph Lauren partnership gives people the chance to relive one of television’s most beloved series in our stores with immersive sets inspired by the show.’
