Stranger Things has released the trailer for season 4 and revealed the fate of a fan-favorite character.
The surprise trailer which arrived on Valentine’s Day confirms that Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is alive and in Russia like fans speculated.
At the end of season 3, Hopper supposedly sacrificed himself to save everyone else. However, in the end-credit scene in a prison in Kamchatka, Russia, some guards were talking about feeding ‘The American’.
The “From Russia With Love…” teaser shows a snowy railway track with prisoners working. One of them is shown to be a bald Jim Hopper.
In a statement, creators Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer said, “We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway — and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper! Although it’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other.”
Further adding, “Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything.”
“Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime — pray for the American,” the Duffer Brothers continued.
David Harbour shared the teaser as well with the caption, “For the faithful, Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Stranger Things star Maya Hawke jokingly commented, “Is that even how you build a train track??”
While Gaten Matarazzo who plays Dustin in the show wrote, “Saw this on YouTube and thought it was fake. You look bada** dude!”
