In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 33-year-old actor revealed details on the last episode of the thriller show and the cliffhanger.

Talking about the addition of a female serial killer in season 2, Badgley explained, “She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of person. She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of predator. She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of… you know, dare I say, in the third season – oh, god!”

The news outlet then asked Penn Badgley, “Are we going to get a third season?” To which the Gossip Girl alum replied, “Technically I can’t… I mean, like, unofficially?”

Netflix has not officially announced that ‘You’ will be renewed for another season. However, the second season ended with Badgley’s character Joe Goldberg and Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) expecting a child together. While Joe sets his eye on another girl, his next-door neighbor.

Back in January, co-creator and executive producer Sera Gamble told Cosmopolitan, “Absolutely it could come back for season three. First of all, it’s up to the powers that be. We hope that a lot of people will watch the show and that it gets to continue.”

She also added, “I will say that we have an idea for season three that is SO exciting that people talk about it in the [writer’s] room everyday. So my fingers are crossed… I’ll just say, I hope we get the chance to keep making the show.”
