In an Instagram post, she expressed her enthusiasm and wrote, “The Bat is out of the bag and I am beyond thrilled and honored. I’m also an emotional wreck.. because this is a childhood dream. This is something I would have died to have seen on TV when I was a young member of the LGBT community who never felt represented on tv and felt alone and different. Thank you everyone. Thank you god.”

If everything settles down successfully at the crossover event, Rose will also appear as the lesbian superhero for a full TV series. The ‘Batwoman’ series is being produced by Greg Berlanti, who has previously worked on ‘The Flash’, ‘Green Lantern’, and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’. ‘Smallville’ and ‘Melrose Place’ writer Caroline Dries will script the series.

The show extends solidarity with the LGBTQ community and has become the first live-action superhero series to feature an openly gay lead, male or female, in history. If the series turns out successful and moves ahead as a show, Batwoman will join a number of DC Comics shows on The CW network, including ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl’. Arrow even went forward and tweeted it.

Ruby Rose, 32, who identifies herself as gender fluid has always been very coherent and courageous when it comes to representing the LGBTQ community in arts and entertainment.

Fans on Twitter are ecstatic.

A number of queer characters in comics have emerged in recent years. Often, writers have taken existing characters ― like X-Men superhero Iceman ― and given them an LGBTQ-inclusive origin story. This has been wholly appreciated by the audience.
