Disney announces Home Alone remake and fans are not happy. The company has also announced remakes of other classic films.
Home Alone Remake
The Walt Disney Company will be launching its new streaming service Disney+ in November.
Disney+ will stream exclusive shows like The Mandalorian and Marvel’s Falcon and Winter Soldier. Along with every single Disney movie.
The CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, revealed in a call with investors that the company will be remaking the classic Christmas movie Home Alone. The movie starred Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister.
A whole host of reboots
“We are also focused on leveraging Fox’s vast library of great titles to further enrich the content mix on our… platforms,” he said, adding, “For example, reimagining ‘Night at the Museum,’ ‘Cheaper by the Dozen’ and ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ for a new generation on Disney+.”
However, no cast details or release dates have been provided by Disney.
Disney+ will feature movies and show from Marvel, “Star Wars,” Disney Animation and Pixar. It will cost approximately $7 per month.
Fans are NOT happy
Fans of the 1990s classic are furious at the news. One user wrote, “We don’t need a #homealone remake. The original is a classic don’t touch it.”
A Home Alone 2019 remake should involve Kevin McAllister spending hours playing Fortnite while Harry & Marc cyberhack all his family’s data, and Kevin’s mum & dad get arrested for neglect.— Tiernan Douieb (@TiernanDouieb) August 7, 2019
DO NOT TOUCH HOME ALONE! LEAVE HOME ALONE WELL ALONE THANK YOU. #Lorraine
