Taylor Swift talks to a radio interviewer who is also a fan to answer some truly personal questions about ME! and her career. The fan was super emotional about talking to Taylor.
Taylor Swift appeared on On Air with Ryan Seacrest to talk to Seacrest about ME! and the upcoming TS7. Addressing the many small clues in her music video, Taylor revealed that while fans had picked up on many clues, they would not understand other clues until several months into the TS7 phase when more stuff would have been released. She added that since she has been dropping clues for 15 years now, she is well versed in the art of dropping Easter eggs in her songs and videos.
Swift also addressed the meaning behind ME!, saying that when she thought of this melody, she knew that it would be one that stuck in people’s heads and she wanted to make sure the message behind it was special. She said that she wanted to put out a song in this age of people being neurotic, anxious and insecure which would make them feel happy about themselves. She added that while there are many songs about people feeling special for how they look or what they can buy, the same messaging is not applied to people’s individual traits and personalities.
Seacrest then introduced Swift to a fan named Audrey who has her own college radio station and has been to three Taylor Swift shows, and she got to ask Taylor questions. Audrey immediately asked Taylor what the proudest moment of her career has been so far, to which Swift said that her connection with fans was what she was most proud of. She said she was very aware of how fans had placed her where she is, and that she was always thankful for them letting her do the job she loves.
Audrey also said that she appreciated Swift’s Reputation Tour planning with the decorating and the setlist, during which she got emotional. She started crying when talking about Our Song.
Taylor is scheduled to appear at Wango Tango and at the Billboard Music Awards.
