The Tennessee native appealed for LGBTQ protections in her state. Additionally, he launched a petition urging the authorities to support the Equality Act. Given that she has over 118 million followers on Instagram, the movement quickly gained traction online.
Taylor Swift kept herself away from all political matters until last year. However she is now urging her fans to send letters to Senators to support the Act. She used the hashtag #lettertomysenator, saying fans should use these to spread the movement online.

Swift said, “I personally reject the President’s stance that his administration ‘supports equal treatment for all’ but that the Equality Act ‘in its current form is filled with poison pills that threaten to undermine parental and conscience rights’.
In conclusion, the singer and patron wrote, “Please, please think about the lives you could change for the better if you were to vote to support the Equality Act in the Senate and prohibit this harsh and unfair discrimination. I, for one, would be immensely grateful.”
Showing total support, Swift made a donation to the GLAAD Advocacy Group. This group is a non- governmental media monitoring organization founded by LGBTQ people in 1985.
