Noel Gallagher revealed that he would be selling his Oasis masters really soon: “What am I going to keep them for?”
The 52-year-old, who is known for his vocals and as the lead guitarist of English rock band ‘Oasis’ revealed what he plans to do with his masters.
The English songwriter released his new single ‘This Is The Place’ this Monday. He made an appearance on the Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote his new EP.
During the chat, Gallagher revealed what he wanted to do with the masters he’d own in around 5 years.
“I will be selling mine to the highest bidder,” he declared.
“What would I keep them for? So my kids can benefit from them? No no no, I’m gonna sell them, buy a plane, but a yacht, I want a chimp with a top hat, and I’ll have my rocket. And then I’ll just leave the kids with the other stuff from the 2000s,” Gallagher explained.
The singer also shared how times have changed and people are more interested in individual tracks rather than the whole album.
He stated, “People these days, they don’t listen to albums anymore. They want that track and that track and that track…There’s this galling thing now where people are like, ‘I really like Track 8 on your album’.”
“If I’m doing a gig I’ll say, ‘This next one’s called “She Taught Me How to Fly”‘ and there’ll be silence. Then you go ‘Track 6,’ they’re like ‘Oh! Track 6!” The guitarist added.
Gallagher and his brother, Liam Gallagher were part of ‘Oasis’ together. However, Noel left the band in August 2009. Liam decided to lead Oasis but the band eventually broke up in 2014.
Noel commented about the potential Oasis reunion, “I sincerely hope not.”
The singer has been giving harsh comments about his brother in interviews. In a interview with The Guardian, he revealed, “Liam famously said to me one night ‘I don’t like quirky, weird things,’ I was like ‘Oh, OK, well this is going to be fun, then…’”
Additionally he said about Liam’s Glastonbury performance, “I don’t think I’ve ever been so embarrassed for a man in my entire life. He’s pulled off the incredible magic trick of making those Oasis songs sound weedy and thin. And he looked like he was having the worst day of his life, walking around in what looks like a pair of my son’s pyjamas, shouting into a mic about some perceived injustice. If you can’t sing ’em, don’t play ’em!”
The former Oasis member also insulted Liam’s music sayin it’s, “unsophisticated music for unsophisticated people by an unsophisticated man”.
Noel Gallagher’s band released their new EP in June called Black Star Dancing.
