Mick Jagger just underwent heart surgery and is now in recovery in New York after canceling a Rolling Stones tour due to health issues.
Mick Jagger is currently recovering from successful heart surgery and valve replacement in New York. He is at the New York’s Presbyterian Hospital, and a friend close to the legendary singer said, “He is resting and recovering well.”
Jagger is being monitored by nurses after the procedure, which was minimally invasive and which saw doctors repairing the valve via a catheter and without opening up his chest. The need for the procedure arose after Jagger underwent a routine scan that eventually led to the need for the heart procedure arising.
A bunch of Jagger’s fans took to social media to tweet out their good wishes. One wrote, “Please….god if u are real protect mick jagger.” Lenny Kravitz wrote, “Sending you love and healing energy. You’ll be back playing in no time.” Another fan said, “If Mick Jagger dies i’m dying [with] him.”
Because of the need for the procedure, the Rolling Stones announced that they were postponing the No Filter tour. Jagger wrote on Twitter, “I’m so sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets. I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone.”
Jagger is expected to make a full recovery.
