According to Variety, Scotland Yard detectives went to the United States in May to interview Kevin Spacey. The actor currently faces six allegations of sexual assault in the UK. The police did not arrest him, they only interviewed him. However, the actor denies all allegations.

A spokeswoman from the police department said, “In May 2019, we voluntarily interviewed a man under caution in America, by officers from the Met’s Complex Case Team. He did not get arrested. Inquiries are ongoing.”

Some of the allegations were made against Spacey while he acted as the artistic director of The Old Vic theatre in London between 2004 and 2015.

Spacey still faces a criminal charge in the United States. In January, the House of Cards actor pleaded not guilty to indecent assault and battery. More than 30 men have accused the Oscar winner of sexual assault.

Actor Anthony Rapp first accused Spacey of assault in November 2017. Rapp said that Spacey made sexual advances towards him in 1986 when he was 14 years old and Spacey was 26. Spacey, however, said he has no recollection of the event but still publicly apologized.

The actor is now due to appear in court Monday in an indecent assault and battery case.

Criminal charges

Spacey faces criminal charges of indecent assault and battery in Massachusetts. In July 2016, an accuser said Spacey bought him multiple alcoholic beverages and then forcibly touched and fondled the then-18-year-old’s genitals.

On Friday, the unnamed accuser dropped a civil lawsuit he had filed against Spacey a week earlier. The accuser made the same allegations he made in the ongoing criminal case and said he had suffered mental distress.

However, the accuser’s attorney, Mitchell Garabedian, told CNN via email on Friday that he and his client have voluntarily dropped the lawsuit. They made no further comments.

The cell phone

In Monday’s hearing, a cell phone is under examination. The accuser texted his girlfriend and sent a video during the alleged assault from that phone. The prosecution says it obtained data from the phone, which it shared with the defense. The authorities returned the phone to the accuser’s family. However, the accuser and his family misplaced the cell phone.

The man has accused Spacey of reaching down to his pants and groping him at the bar in 2016. Spacey denied all these allegations but still faces a criminal charge.

The text messages are as follows.

The accuser wrote, “Like he’s hangin around me in the bar. He got my number and asked me to come out with him.”

His girlfriend replied, “Are you kidding. What? Sounds like he’s hitting on you..”

He wrote, “He’s grabbed my expletive like 8 times. He’s pissed I’m texting. I told him I had a gf. No I’m serious. He’s gay. He pulled my zipper down. And he invited me to his house. I’ll talk to you later.”

The defense believes some of the texts have been filtered.

The conversation stopped for some time. Later the accuser sent 15 messages to his girlfriend, and one to a group of six friends.

He wrote to his girlfriend, “I got the autographs and a hell of a stout. Story. Help me.”
