Mel B has been hospitalized after losing sight, but she is now on the road to recovery. The Spice Girls member lost her left eye vision after a botched surgery.
On 17th May, Mel B was rushed to the hospital after losing sight in her left eye. The Spice Girls singer was forced to seek help after her laser surgery went wrong, and she went to London’s Moorfield Eye Hospital’s specialist facility with an eye patch, where she said, ‘I can’t see anything, I am totally blind.”
A source told The Sun that the 43 year old “was clearly in a lot of pain.” She was transferred to Luton and Dunstable Hospital’s Ophthalmology Department, where her vision was successfully returned. Despite doctors suggesting that the Spice Girls member rest her sight, she defied orders and rejoined the tour rehearsals.
A source added, “Mel was in a really bad way. The other girls and their managers were really worried. Mel was frantic and screaming that she couldn’t see a thing. She went to the hospital in a chauffeur-driven car with an assistant, who was holding her hand. No one knew what brought it on but she had very swift, and very good, treatment.”
The insider added, “It is unclear if the loss of vision is linked to her previous problems, although it does seem likely. All the girls rallied round her, including Geri. They made sure they weren’t behind on rehearsals, which have been going really well. Mel was determined to get back in action and was very brave. ‘The situation did cause concern, and it is something the girls and those around them will monitor closely when the concerts start.”
The Spice Girls reunion tour is set to start soon.
