Meghan Markle was rejected for a modeling job from a major US TV show. The Duchess of Sussex was described as “a bit of a wild card”.
The Duchess of Sussex seemed pretty hard at work before becoming a member of the royal family. The 37-year-old had landed a role in popular TV series, Suits, as Rachel Zane.
However, Markle departed from the American drama series on Wednesday 25 April.
Before taking part in Suits, the Royal family member tried to get a modeling job at the popular US TV show, The Wendy Williams Show.
However, the mother of 2-month-old, baby Archie, was turned down for the job. Markle tried to become one of the regular models in the fashion segments of the show.
Wendy Williams, the host of the US TV show revealed in one of her ‘Hot Topic’ segments that Markle wanted to work at her show.
The 54-year-old talked about Meghan’s appearance at the Wimbledon 2019, to show support for her friend Serena Williams. She explained how fans were addressed by Markle’s security to avoid photographs being taken of her.
“Meghan wanted to work here at Wendy,” Williams stated during the segment. “She came here to be on one of our models.”
“We do the fashion – things like that. Or get a job doing something, this is before she met the man, the redhead, Harry.”
“But Meghan knows Wendy’s show, Meghan wanted to work here,” Williams said.
Williams has previously talked about Meghan Markle early on her show. She discussed a steamy scene acted by the Duchess during her appearance on 90210, a reboot of Beverly Hills.
Markle has also worked in the game show, Deal or No Deal which was hosted by Howie Mandel. She was one of the models holding the suitcases for the contestants to choose from.
Actress Chrissy Teigen opened up about working with Markle on the game show. She said, “I was on Deal or No Deal with her and she was lovely, Now everyone asks me what she was like and I say, ‘Sorry, no dirt.’ She’s gorgeous.”
In addition, Williams said, “I respect Meghan Markle’s hustle and I respect her game.”
“However, she’s a bit of a wild card, you know, because she goes from being the ‘Deal or No Deal’ girl, so this is a girl looking for game.”
She revealed, “She came here to Wendy to find out what she could do here. She’s been here, she’s been in our building, we have her DNA.”
Markle has opened up about her early work previously as she told Esquire magazine in 2013. The Duchess said, “I would put that in the category of things I was doing while I was auditioning to try to make ends meet.”
“I went from working in the US Embassy in Argentina to ending up on ‘Deal'”. She further added, “It’s run the gamut and definitely working on Deal or No Deal was a learning experience, and it helped me to understand what I would rather be doing.”
