Harrison Ford opens up and gives an update about Indiana Jones 5. He says, “Things are coming along well.”
76-year-old Harrison Ford shared details about the new Indiana Jones movie at the premiere of his new movie, “The Secret Life of Pets 2.” The premiere was at Westwood’s Fox Theatre. Ford gave an interview to Variety saying that they “should be starting to shoot sometime next week.”
He further added, “I’m looking forward to it. Things are coming along well.”
Indiana Jones 5 was supposed to release in 2020, however, the production was shifted forward by Disney. The highly awaited Stephen Spielberg film will be released in July next year. The previous film in the franchise Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released back in 2008. This was 19 years after the Lucasfilm had released the last part of the original series in 1989.
Rumors were circulating that the role of Indiana Jones might be given to someone other than Harrison Ford. It was rumored that Chris Pratt was in the running for the role. However, Ford appeared on the Today show, and stated, “Nobody else is gonna be Indiana Jones.”
He continued further, “Don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy… This is a hell of a way to tell Chris Pine this. I’m sorry, man.”

Furthermore, Ford’s new film The Secret Life of Pets 2 is his first animated film. The Star Wars star told Variety, “It was fun,” Ford said of his involvement. “It was easy. They do most of the work, but I really enjoyed it. I really appreciate the quality they bring to the making of these films.” The movie also stars Lake Bell, Patton Oswalt, and Tiffany Haddish.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 will release on Friday.
