The young Picasso
The 32-year-old rapper shares Adonis with artist and former adult-film star Sophie Brussaux. Drake confirmed that he fathered a child with Brussaux on numerous tracks on his double album Scorpion, released last June.
Drake also showed off his son’s art last December. Adonis painted a picture for his father and gave it to him as a Christmas present. The painting displayed green, blue, yellow and red abstracts with the little toddler’s handprints.
Drake cheerfully captioned the image, “Adonis > Picasso don’t @ me 💙🎄.”
Drake loves his son
According to reports, Drake’s brags about his son to friends and family since his birth. He has a solid co-parenting relationship with Sophie. Drake invited Brussaux to be his guest at one of his recent concerts. He is open to the idea of building a better relationship with her.
Drake does not live with Sophie and Adonis. According to reports, his schedule is busy. However, he Facetimes his son every day. Whenever possible he sends out private jets so she and Adonis can fly out to meet him.
Sources say that Drake and Sophie have been exposing Adonis to multiple languages and the arts as well. During an October episode of LeBron James‘ unscripted HBO series The Shop, Drake raved about his beautiful son. He added that he felt “excited” about fatherhood.
He said, “He has crazy blue eyes — baby blue eyes. I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who, we’ve had our moments. I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don’t have any desire for him to not love his mother. I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother. We have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible. Now, I’m just really excited to be a great father. No matter what happens, I have unconditional love for the mother of my child because I want him to love his mother and I have to project that energy.”
Drake’s single track, “God’s Plan” won the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Rap Song.
