Cardi B and Offset have both taken to social media to react to his elaborate apology to her during her set at a concert in Los Angeles.
The couple split about a week ago, and since then Offset has been tirelessly trying to win Cardi back. He tweeted out, “F**CK YALL I MISS CARDI.” He also posted a long video explaining how all he wants for this holiday season is his family back.
On Saturday, the Migos rapper took things to the next level by crashing Cardi’s set at the Rolling Loud Festival in Los Angeles. He brought cake and 2000 roses displaying the words “Take Me Back Cardi” with him.
He then told her on stage, “I just wanna tell you I’m sorry, bro, in person, in front of the world. I love you. Whatever I gotta do to show you that, I’m there.”
While the crowd loved the show, Cardi herself did not seem amused, and talked to Offset before having the entire display removed.
Later on however, the Bodak Yellow rapper addressed the issue in a selfie video on Instagram, in which she asked fans not to be so harsh on Offset.
She said, “Violating my baby father is not gonna make me feel any better, ’cause at the end of the day, that’s still family. Unfortunately, we’re going through things and you know, it’s not private, it became public and I just want things to die down, I just need time so we can see eye to eye. I can’t predict the future.”
She added, “I see a lot of people bashing me because they’re feeling I’m defending my baby father, they’re thinking that I’m getting back together with him. I’m not saying that I’m getting back together with him. I just don’t like that bashing online thing.”
Cardi also then referenced the incident where after standing up for Kanye West, Pete Davidson was shamed so hard by Ariana Grande fans that he deleted social media after posting intensely worrying messages.
She said, “Just earlier, you just saw how Pete Davidson was talking about how he don’t even wanna be on this earth because mad people be coming to him every single day. I wouldn’t want my baby father to have that feeling because of millions of people be bashing him every day. That’s a nasty feeling and I wouldn’t want that.”
She continued, “God could give me and bring me the most perfect, glamorous, fabulous man. That perfect, glamorous, fabulous man, that perfect man, is not going to love my child the same way her father loves my child. So I don’t like that bulls**t because I know how painful it is, where you have millions of people bashing you every single day. I don’t like that and it doesn’t make me feel any better, period.”
On Sunday then, Offset also took to Twitter to address the situation, writing, “All of my wrongs have been made public, i figure It’s only right that my apologies are made public too. A n—a was just trying …..thank god I ain’t got no balloons sheeesh.”
The couple have not talked about their relationship any further on social media.
