Cara Delevingne defends Taylor Swift against Justin Bieber saying, “you should be lifting women up”.
Taylor Swift recently took to her Instagram to report how she had been bullied by both Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun. She claimed that Borchetta had sold her masters to Braun without letting the artist know. She had no idea that the buyer for her masters was going to be sold to Braun who had also bullied her previously.
The 29-year-old was heartbroken that she will never be able to own her 6 albums ever because of Braun.
The singer claimed that she was grossed out of the incident. She has now started working with Universal Studios Music instead of Big Machine Label.
However, Justin Bieber took to his Instagram to post a picture of him video chatting with Kanye and Scooter. He captioned the picture “Taylor Swift what’s up”. Taylor took this post as an example of bullying and posted it on her social media.
Justin Bieber apologizes
However, Justin Bieber took the post down to replace it with a new one where he apologized to the Bad Blood singer.
He wrote, “Hey Taylor. First of all, I would like to apologize for posting that hurtful Instagram post, at the time I thought it was funny but looking back it was insensitive. I have to be honest though it was my caption and post that I screenshotted of Scooter and Kanye that said “Taylor Swift what up”. He didn’t have anything to do with it and it wasn’t even a part of the conversation in all actuality he was the person who told me not to joke like that.”
He continued, “Scooter has had your back since the days you graciously let me open up for you! As the days have passed we haven’t crossed paths and gotten to communicate our differences. So for you to take it to social media and get people to hate on Scooter isn’t fair. What were you trying to accomplish by posting that blog? Seems to me like it was to get sympathy you also knew that in posting that your fans would go and bully scooter.”
He further explained, “Anyway, one thing I know is both Scooter and I love you. I feel like the only way to resolve conflict is through communication. I’m sure Scooter and I would love to talk to you and resolve any conflict, pain or any feelings that need to be addressed. Neither Scooter or I have anything negative to say about you. We truly want the best for you. I usually don’t rebuttal things like this but when you try and deface someone I love, that’s crossing a line.”
Cara Delevingne has got Taylor Swift’s back
Cara came to Swift’s defense when Hailey Rhode, Bieber’s wife commented under the apology post “Gentleman”. Even though Justin later deleted Cara’s comment.
She wrote, “Gentleman? You must be bored. I wish you spent less time sticking up for men and more time trying to understand women and respecting their valid reactions. As a married man, you should be lifting women up instead of tearing them down because you are threatened.”
She continued, “I am not sure you actually understand what an apology is. This issue that [ Taylor Swift] is talking out is about far more than a picture and you know that. As you said you haven’t spoken to her in years which means you definitely don’t understand the situation. I do. Take a step back and try and learn from this. We should all be on the same team. End of story.”
Other stars including Katy Perry have also signed the petition, “Make Taylor Swift re-release her 6 albums”. Katy also commented under the petition, “I stand with Taylor. Stay strong my friend.”
Taylor Swift’s new album “Lovers” comes out on August 23rd.
