Aly Raisman reveals her thoughts about ex-boyfriend Colton Underwood’s Bachelor stint. The two dated for a year from 2016 to 2017.
Raisman and Underwood started dating in August 2016 and continued to date all the way until June of 2017. While Raisman did not reveal why she and Underwood split up, she did tell People that the two “have not talked in a really, really long time.” She also said she does not watch The Bachelor.
She also addressed the fact that contestant Caelynn Miller-Keyes opened up about her sexual assault to Underwood. Raisman added, “I am supportive of anybody that comes forward and especially for her to do that on national television. I really commend her for her bravery and I stand with her and I hope she’s getting a ton of support because she deserves it.”
Raisman herself is a sexual abuse survivor and spoke out about her experiences of abuse at the hands of Larry Nassar in the past. She said, “Even if you can’t relate to someone’s story, if you are supportive of a survivor, you are helping — I really believe you’re making a change in the world that we live in.”
While talking to Caelynn, Underwood also addressed Raisman’s experience, telling her that he felt guilt in the relationship, adding, “For me, that was the hardest thing I ever had to watch. Going through something with someone, looking into her eyes and just knowing, like, the pain associated with it. Like, who am I to feel the pain when I wasn’t the victim?”
The Bachelor airs on ABC every Monday at 8 PM.
