Adam Sandler mourns the death of his on-screen son, Cameron Boyce. Boyce passed away due to a medical condition.
Cameron Boyce passed away at the age of 20 due to an ongoing medical condition. The news was confirmed by his family to ABC News on Saturday night.
Boyce’s co-stars were completely shocked after they heard the news. The Disney actor starred alongside Adam Sandler and Salma Hayek in Grown Ups.
Sandler posted a photo of Boyce along with an emotional note. It read, “Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid.”
He continued, “Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.”
Actress Salma Hayek also posted a tribute for Boyce on Instagram. She wrote, “I had the privilege to play Cameron’s mother in #grownups1 and 2 and we stayed in touch through the years He was spirited, talented, kind, generous, funny and a shining light. His joy will live in our hearts forever as he goes on dancing and shining elsewhere. My heart goes to his lovely family.”
The young star played a lead role in Disney Channel’s “Jessie” in which he starred as Luke Ross. The show also starred Debby Ryan and ran for four seasons. He also appeared in the movie Descendants and the horror film Mirrors.
Skai Jackson, Boyce’s Jessie co-star, also shared an emotional post on Instagram. She wrote, “I don’t even know where to start. I am at a loss for words. I never thought in a million years I will be writing this. Cam, you were one of a kind. My heart will be forever broken.”
She continued, “I am so happy that I got to spend almost every day with you on set, you gave the best hugs. I wish I would have hugged you tighter when I saw you a couple of months ago. Thank you so much for being the big brother I never had. I am so distraught and I cannot stop crying! I love you so much. Fly high. God’s best angel.”
A spokesperson for Disney Channel said, “From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. As a young man he was fueled by a strong desire to makes a difference in people’s lives through his humanitarian work.”
“He was an incredibly talented performer,” he continued. “A remarkably caring and thoughtful person and above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend.”
Adding further, “We offer our deepest condolences to his family, cast mates and colleagues and join his many millions of fans in grieving his untimely passing. He will be dearly missed.”
Moreover, Boyce was set to appear in the third Descendants movie. It is going to release on August 2.
