Photographs of Selena Gomez wearing a skimpy orange bikini, while looking slightly curvier than her usual self, recently surfaced on the internet over the weekend.
Some of the ‘body critics’ were quick to jump to criticize and fat-shame her.
people saying selena looks “fat” are obviously deluded because she looks amazing and sexy! people should empower other men and women no matter what size you are, selena looks beautiful and for the people who have to put others down.. fuck you, that’s all i gotta say #empower pic.twitter.com/cZ0IeV6zXq

you guys know i don’t like Selena but i’m seeing comments saying that she’s fat and ugly and i hate it.
I think her body is beautiful and i’m happy for her because she’s not afraid about showing her body. pic.twitter.com/qTzPOQmwt6— pepa ? (@dreewbizzle) March 19, 2018
Gomez posted a video of herself in an orange bikini where she looked gorgeous and content with her life. The caption under the photo read, “I chose to take care of myself because i want to, not to prove anything to anyone.”
She further added, “The beauty myth – an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty.”

Gomez had been a victim of body shame once before as well. Her struggle with criticism even forced her to see a therapist. While talking about being fat-shamed, she told US Weekly, “I’d land at the airport and people would yell out, ‘You’re fat!’ It was awful.
“This was the first year I ever dealt with anyone talking about my body. I’ve been working in therapy.”

Her Puma shoot was how long ago … bodies don’t stay the same forever lol and she also still has lupus which has a an effect on her body. And please don’t use the word ‘fat’ I don’t care if you meant no harm but that word isn’t necessary to EVER describe Selena.
