Speculation and rumors have revolved around the paternal identity of the handsome and charming Prince Harry of the British Royal family. However, all theories can finally be put to rest as Princess Diana’s butler reveals that Prince Charles is indeed Prince Harry’s father!
Princess Diana’s butler, Paul Burrell, has denied rumors that Prince Charles is not Prince Harry’s real father. Paul appeared on the show, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and was asked by one of the other contestants if he conclusively believed that Prince Harry was Prince Charles’ son, and didn’t belong to Princess Diana’s former lover, James Hewitt.
The rumor was fueled because James Hewitt and Prince Harry shared physical characteristics like ginger-colored hair.
Jackie Gillies, a contestant on the show, asked Paul, “Do you believe that Prince Harry is Charles’ child?”
To this, Paul responded, “Yes. Absolutely.”
Then Jackie probed further and asked, “It isn’t the other… The orange hair?”
The Paul clarified, “She didn’t know James Hewitt when Harry was born. That’s face. Five years into the marriage, she had Harry. And she hadn’t yet met James Hewitt. True.”
Paul was so convincing in his reasoning that Jackie immediately accepted his answer and said, “Awesome! I believe you. Case closed!”
Paul began serving for the Royal household when he was just 18 years old. He first served as the Buckingham Palace footman and was later made Queen Elizabeth II’s personal footman a year after.
In 1987, Burell joined Charles and Diana in their house in Gloucestershire, and remained Princess Diana’s butler until her death in 1997.
Paul was also awarded the Royal Victorian Medal for his valuable services to the Royal Household.
The rumor of Prince Harry’s real biological father has also been denied straight from the horse’s mouth. James Hewitt, who is coined as Prince Harry’s real father, also addressed the rumor in an interview last year with Seven’s Sunday Night.
The host of the show, Melissa Doyle, upfront asked Hewitt if he was Prince Harry’s actual father. To this, he point blank responded, “No, I’m not.”
Addressing the longstanding rumor, he said, “It sells papers. It’s worse for him (Prince Harry), probably. Poor chap.”
Hewitt was a serving officer in the British army when he and Diana got together in 1986. They shared a romantic relationship for five years before he was sent away to serve in the Gulf War.
Well, that’s a relief!
