It all began when popular talk show host, producer, actress, and philanthropist, Oprah Winfrey, appeared on a show called 60 Minutes.

On the show, Oprah stated, “One year into Donald Trump’s presidency, Americans remain divided, often unwilling to listen to what the other side has to say.”

She made the comment after conducting a quiz on a sample of voters from Michigan, where half of them had voted for the President and the others hadn’t in the last presidential elections.

President Trump did not take that comment well and responded to Oprah through a tweet.

He said, “Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes.”

“The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!”

Well, the president’s tweet crossed many people but one person, in particular, believed he had just crossed a line. Oprah’s dear friend and popular daytime talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, immediately came to her rescue.

Ellen read out the tweet on her morning show and said, “Oh no you didn’t! No no no, he’s gone too far. Oprah is my friend and when you mess with Oprah, you mess with me.”

The crowd erupted into a huge round of applause as one of the most powerful women in the US stood up for her friend.

Ellen broke down the tweet sentence by sentence and showed evidence to suggest how wrong the president was in what he had written about Oprah.

She showed how Oprah helped people improve their lives on her talk show by gifting all her audience members cars, while President Trump helped the people in Puerto Rico by handing out free paper towels to them.

She ended by saying, “President Trump, it’s time for an a-ha moment okay. You’re not just some guy on Twitter anymore. You’re the president for all of us. It is your job to unite people and you don’t do it by attacking people especially Oprah.”

I mean George Washington may be the father of our country, but Oprah is the mother of our country.”

Well, we all know Ellen is very protective of Oprah and wants to be her number one friend. She even jokingly grew insecure of Reese Witherspoon when she claimed that Oprah was her best friend.

Then, in order to settle who really was Oprah’s best friend, Ellen and Reese competed in a game where both had to answer questions about Oprah and the one that answered most questions correctly won the game.
