Selena Gomez sure seems like the coolest person on the face of the Earth, and it is tempting to believe that she always used to be, however; that was not always the case.
Selena Gomez recently opened up during a new episode of her friend Raquelle Stevens’ podcast, Giving Back Generation. She spoke about her experiences at her school. She told Raquelle that it was not smooth sailing for her. In fact, she was a victim of bullying and was a nerd.
Selena said, ‘I know when I was growing up, I went to school for a little bit before I was homeschooled. If my cousin wasn’t the captain of the cheerleading team, I would have been destroyed. Because I was just, you know, I was kind of a nerd and just hung out with like one person.’
Her social life has undergone a huge transformation ever since. The most recent evidence of that would be the fact that her fellow podcast guests were Ashley Cook and Courtney Lopez. Selena Gomez also used this opportunity for talking about her friendship dynamic as well. She said, ‘I’m the troublemaker of the group, a little mischievous. I like to make things interesting. And I feel that’s a crucial part of friendship. I want there to be more friendships like this. I think there needs to be more.’
Selena Gomez talked about visiting her school, Danny Jones Middle School that is located in Mansfield, Texas, earlier this month. She surprised the students by saying over the intercom, ‘Hello, students at Danny Jones Middle School. This is Selena Gomez talking to you.’
She further added, ‘This trip, I wanted to take my best friend Courtney, and also some of my people from my label, just to show them where I grew up and how proud I am of where I’m from. Some of my teachers I got to see again, and they were part of my life for so long.’
So, there you have it, folks. Selena Gomez was a nerd when she was in school!
