Allen is a controversial figure in the film industry. He has been accused of molesting Dylan Farrow, his adopted daughter. The allegations have been surfacing since 1992. Since then, Allen has called the allegations against him “baseless”. He has continued to deny all the accusations leveled at him.

Johansson, who is known for her controversial comments as well, has made it clear she believes in him. She told The Hollywood Reporter, “I love Woody. I see Woody whenever I can, and I have had a lot of conversations with him about it. He maintains his innocence, and I believe him.”

Other celebrities like Greta Gerwig and Colin Firth have said they regret working with the film maker. Timothee Chalamet and Rebecca Hall have also said they will be donating the money they made from working with him. Allen is also in a legal dispute with Amazon, which ended a four-film contract with him due to these allegations.

Celebrities supporting Allen include Diane Keaton. Allens’ son Moses also denies the claims, saying his sister was misguided by Mia Farrow, their mother.

Johansson was one of the first celebrities to join the Times Up movement against harassment in Hollywood. She said, “It’s hard because it’s a time where people are very fired up, and understandably. Things needed to be stirred up, and so people have a lot of passion and a lot of strong feelings and are angry, and rightfully so. It’s an intense time.”

Scarlett Johansson and Woody Allen have worked together on Match Point, Scoop and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
