Ryan Reynolds has become the proud owner of the budget wireless carrier Mint Mobile. The actor made the announcement on his social media.
Yesterday the Deadpool actor posted a photo of himself announcing that he has become the new owner of the mobile carrier. He wrote the caption, “Newest @mintmobile customer. Also, owner of the company. To keep things above board, I’ll be paying myself $15 a month. #MintOwner.”
In a statement on Monday, Reynolds stated, “It’s a bit unconventional which is why I like it,” Reynolds said Monday in a statement. “Celebrities generally invest in high-end products like skincare brands or delicious gin companies. Yet Mint is making wireless way more affordable at a time when the average American is paying 65 dollars a month. I’m excited to champion a more practical approach to the most essential technology.”
Furthermore, according to TechCrunch, the Detective Pikachu star “now owns more than 25% of the company with this recent investment.”
Mint Mobile was launched in August 2016 by Ultra Mobile, a Californian company. The company is headed by David Glickman, who is also the CEO of Ultra. It offers discounted wireless services to customers for as low as $15 a month.
Apart from this company, the 43-year-old actor also bought his own gin company called Aviation Gin in 2018.
