Ellen was recently seen at a sports game with President George W. Bush and his wife. The TV show host garnered a lot of criticism for her actions. She took to her show to emphasize the need to “be kind to everyone”, not just people you agree with.

Many people agreed and many disagreed with her stance. Actor Mark Ruffalo also took to Twitter to contribute his two cents. He wrote, “Sorry, until George W. Bush is brought to justice for the crimes of the Iraq War, (including American-lead torture, Iraqi deaths & displacement, and the deep scars—emotional & otherwise—inflicted on our military that served his folly), we can’t even begin to talk about kindness.”

One person responded to Ruffalo, agreeing with his stance about Ellen hanging out with George Bush. She wrote, “It’s because of Bush and his decision to invade Iraq that my husband is dead. I am not a fan of Bush, his admin, or his policies nor will I herald him as a kind man or one that I should support.”

A person replied to the above user, “Rest in Peace respectfully to your loved ones who passed but nobody has ever forced anyone to join. I promise you they wanted to serve their country with free will and would do it all over again if given the chance. I know I would, it’s the whole reason I signed up.”

Another person wrote, “I’m 100 percent fine with this, because people lied and many died, but why is this energy never aimed to Democrat Presidents who commit what could be called atrocities? The moral navel gazing needs to be principled and not just political.”

Ellen initially said on hr show of the incident, “People were upset.” She added, “They thought, why is a gay Hollywood liberal sitting next to a conservative Republican president?”

She continued, “When I say, ‘Be kind to one another,’ I don’t only mean the people that think the same way that you do. I mean be kind to everyone. Doesn’t matter.”
