Kevin Hart broke several bones and had to undergo intensive spinal surgery following his car wreck, and will require “round the clock” care to recover.
The Blast revealed that Hart will be discharged from the hospital today. He recently had a massive surgery to repair the fractures on his spine. After his discharge, he will need “a medical professional with him for the immediate future.” He will also need a back brace for support, but will not require a wheelchair.
While on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Hart’s friend Dwayne Johnson said Hart will recover. He said that the comedian is “a very lucky man,” adding that, “Everything is good.”
He added, “I spoke with Kevin – I connected with him today. And you know what? These things happen in life and thankfully he was strapped in nicely to his car seat. I love the guy, he’s one of my best friends. And honestly, I mean, thank God, it could have been a lot worse. So, he’s a lucky man, and he knows it, too. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery and I’m going to see him soon.”
Hart was travelling in one of his own cars in Malibu earlier this month. His friend was driving the car and the driver’s fiance was also a passenger. The car lost control on Mullholland Highway and crashed onto the road. Hart was initially taken to his house, and then to the hospital when he was not responsive.
Hart will not be able to work for four or five months following his crash. His next project is a comedy called Fatherhood. It is currently still starring actors for it’s roles. However, it might have to be delayed due to Hart’s condition.
Kevin Hart has not yet made any public statement regarding his car wreck as of yet.
