Kanye West is throwing the “Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience” party.
West recently held his famous Sunday Service at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheater in Detroit. The Fox Theater then announced that he would be throwing his “Jesus Is King” Experience at 8PM ET. Tickets were free and can be reserved via Ticketmaster.
A venue representative told Rolling Stone before the event, “We just found out about it, actually. We usually don’t [book any events day-of], but it’s Kanye West, he can get away with anything.” The rep said West seems to be planning a “movie thing” but no one knows the entire plan.
As usual, West’s album drop comes with its own controversies. Last year, West was set to release Yandhi. However, it never saw the light of day. Some fans thought West might just take to stage tonight and not drop anything… or not even show up at all.
However, Kanye previewed his new album during the show. He also showed attendees his new film Jesus Is King about his Sunday Services.
West also debuted Jesus themed merchandise on his website. His website read, “ALL US PURCHASES WILL RECEIVE A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD OF JESUS IS KING UPON RELEASE DATE.”
Kanye West will be releasing Jesus Is King on Sunday after missing his deadline on Friday.
