Justin Hartley and Chrishell Stause filed for divorce after 6 years of having known each other.
The couple have been married for two years. According to E!, they filed in an LA courthouse on Friday, citing “irreconcilable issues.” Hartley cites that they split up on July 8, 2019 and does not want to give Stause spousal support.
The couple have made several appearances together since their apparent split date of July 8. They were seen together just a week ago, and celebrated their 2 year anniversary in October.
A source told People that the two have “been having trouble for a while.” The source said, “In many ways, they’re somewhat fundamentally incompatible. Chrishell is really ready to just settle down and be a wife and stay-at-home mom and was hoping to start a family relatively soon. Justin wants that but also doesn’t think it has to happen in the near future and is at a point in his career where he wants to really be able to explore all the options that are coming his way.”
The source added, “He’s reached a new level of fame thanks to the show and he doesn’t want to close many doors right now, and that’s not the path Chrishell is looking to take. She thought babies would happen soon after they got married, but it just hasn’t worked out.”
The couple originally met on the set of All My Children. Stause was working on the show with Hartley’s ex-wife Lindsay Korman. The two started dating after Hartley’s divorce and made their relationship public in 2014. 3 years later, they were married.
In May, Chrishell even suggested that the couple were looking to expand their family. She said, “I have a stepdaughter, so we’ve got our hands full with high school.” She was talking about Justin’s 15 year old daughter Isabella.
Stause revealed in another interview how her romance with Hartley started. She said, “We met up at a concert and talked all night. I drove her home and called the next day. We haven’t been apart since. I knew right away [and] was like, ‘Oh boy, here we go.’ The next day I texted my friend: ‘I found him.’”
After her marriage, Stause told People, “They don’t make them any better than Justin, and I could not be more thrilled to officially be Mrs. Hartley!”
Hartley and Korman were married from 2004 to 2012.
