Iggy Azalea recently let her followers know that she was stung by a hornet four times after it “crawled up the inside of my pant leg”. The rapper is definitely not having a good week.
Azalea wrote on Twitter, “A hornet crawled up the inside of my pant leg today and stung me 4 times! Unlucky as f**k.”
One fan replied, “that’s literally terrifying hell NAW.” Another wrote, “Should have streamed In My Defense.” Yet another one wrote, “Lucky a** hornett.”
Another fan wrote, “Wish I was that hornet.” A well wisher said, “Bless ur heart! Hornet stings hurt! Hope you feel better soon! Sending love.”
A week ago, Azalea revealed that her comeback album had flopped and debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard 200 chart. In My Defense came out five years after Azalea’s debut The New Classic topped charts.
Critics have said the new album is “unoriginal” and dangerously bordering on appropriation. Pitchfork gave the album 3.8/10, writing, “The album is stacked with cartoonish approximations of what she thinks a rap song should sound like.”
They added, “Instead, Iggy crams her songs with one-liners that sound like branded Instagram captions.”
She wrote on Twitter, “Woke up today feeling a little defeated, ending the day feeling motivated. I think sometimes I feel defeated because I look at the chart and see how much streaming impacts it, and think, ‘How can I win when I’m up against THAT?'”
She added, “But I also feel like: ‘Okay, and?’ There are two options. Quit. Or shut up and just keep fighting. So I’ll keep on fighting!”
Azalea also told fans she would be back in the studio to work on her third album super soon.
