Disney Plus is ready to bring back the cult classic Hocus Pocus to people’s screens. It also announced a huge list of films and shows coming to the streaming service on November 12.
Collider reported the exciting news on Wednesday. Workaholics co-producer and writer Jen D’Angelo has been chosen to write the sequel for Hocus Pocus 2.
The original film was released back in 1993. The horror film starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as three sisters. They played the role of witches Winifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson respectively.
In the film, a teenager moves to Salem and accidentally brings to life a coven of evil witches who died 300 years ago.
It is unclear whether the original cast will return for the sequel. But Disney is trying to nab them for the upcoming film.
Kenny Ortega, the director of the original film told Entertainment Tonight in 2017 that he would be up for a sequel. He said, “I would like to see a sequel, and I think fans would like to see a sequel. I think it would be much more fun to bring the ladies back.”
Further adding, “They’re all still vital and in their prime and capable of doing so much that it would be great to see Bette and Kathy and Sarah come back together to do another movie and I think they would like to.”
Fans are extremely excited about the news.
Who else is super excited that there’s going to be a #HocusPocus sequel?
