Henry Cavill played Superman in the DC movies. He has finally answered rumors circulating his future as the superhero.
The actor opened up about his role as Superman in the DC universe to Men’s Health. After the latest Justice League film led fans to think Cavill will not be returning as Superman. However, the 36-year-old has finally answered this question.
Cavill said, “The cape is in the closet. It’s still mine.”
Also adding about the rumors, “I’m not just going to sit quietly in the dark as all this stuff is going on. I’ve not given up the role. There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That’s important to me. There’s a lot of justice to be done for Superman. The status is: You’ll see.”
Furthermore, the actor also opened up about auditioning for the latest James Bond film. He told the news outlet, “I probably could have prepared better. I remember the director, Martin Campbell, saying, ‘Looking a little chubby there, Henry.’ I didn’t know how to train or diet. And I’m glad Martin said something, because I respond well to truth. It helps me get better.”
“It’s terrifying going into auditions,” Cavill further said. “You put your hand in a dark hole and just hope that something comes out. It’s not like being fast or strong, or being good at football. Sometimes the acting is just bad.”
The full interview of Henry Cavill will be available in the December issue of Men’s Health.
