Christie Brinkley has withdrawn from the famous show, Dancing With the Stars, that airs on ABC following an injury that she sustained during the rehearsals.

Christie Brinkley has withdrawn from the famous show, Dancing With the Stars, that airs on ABC following an injury that she sustained during the rehearsals. The said injury caused Christie Brinkley to arrange for a surgery for her wrist and arm.

The former supermodel will be replaced on Season 28 of Dancing With the Stars that will premiere today by her daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook. Brinkley-Cook, just like her mom, is also a Sports Illustrated model. The network said in a joint statement with BBC Studios that Brinkley-Cook ‘has chosen to quickly step in with hours to learn the entire routine and will compete in her mother’s place for the remainder of the season.’

The statement continued, ‘We wish Christie a full and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her in the audience, whenever possible, proudly supporting Sailor.’ Christie Brinkley said, ‘Showbiz is all about getting a break, and Sailor and I both got one on Dancing with the Stars this season. Sailor joined the cast when I got mine … ouch somebody stop me, it hurts to laugh.’

The complete updated list of stars that will be competing for the Mirror Ball Trophy is as follows; Lauren Alaina – country music star, Sailor Brinkley-Cook – model, Ally Brooke – pop star, Hannah Brown – “The Bachelorette”, Karamo Brown – TV host, Kate Flannery – TV star, Ray Lewis – NFL Hall of Famer, Kel Mitchell – comedian/actor, Lamar Odom – two-time NBA champion, Sean Spicer – former White House press secretary, James Van Der Beek – TV icon, and Mary Wilson – The Supremes.

The above-mentioned stars will be waltzing with the following professional dancers; Brandon Armstrong, Lindsay Arnold, Alan Bersten, Cheryl Burke, Witney Carson, Val Chmerkovskiy, Sasha Farber, Jenna Johnson, Daniella Karagach, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Pasha Pashkov, Gleb Savchenko, and Emma Slater.

However, this time, ABC has not told beforehand about the pairing of stars and the professional dancers up until the season premiere. Season 28 of Dancing With the Stars will be debuting today on ABC at 8/7c. Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews will be making their return as hosts along with judges Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, and Carrie Ann Inaba.
