Alicia Keys will be hosting the 2020 Grammy Awards for the second time in a row. Nominations for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards will be disclosed later this month on November 20.
The 15-time Grammy winner is the third woman to host the elite awards show twice. Famous host Ellen DeGeneres hosted the show in 1996 and 1997. While comedian Rose O’Donnell hosted in 1999 and 2000.
The singer said in a statement via The Hollywood Reporter, “At first, I did think last year was a one-time thing, but when the opportunity came back around, there was no question about returning as host.”
Further adding, “Last year was such a powerful experience for me. Not only did I feel the love in the room, but I felt it from around the world and it confirmed the healing and unifying power of music.”
Deborah Dugan, President, and CEO of the Recording Academy also released a statement saying, “From Best New Artist recipient to Grammy Award host, Alicia Keys has been a beacon of artistry within the music community for more than two decades.”
“Last year was a testament to her compelling creativity and we are thrilled that she will return to the Grammy stage as our host,” she also stated.
The Empire State of Mind singer recently released her new song Show Me Love in September.
The 62nd Grammy Awards will take place on 26 January on CBS.
